![]() I would say your best bet for getting to the airport cheaply, early in the morning, would be to take the nightbus N14, direction Cibeles, from the stop Av. In the opposite direction, the first bus leaves the starting point, Villaverde Alto - which is some way from your stop - for Atocha only at 05:40 (Mon-Sat, later on Sundays) so there is no way you can rely on this for getting back to the airport. ![]() You can see the location of bus stops near your hotel on the map on its website: - coming from Atocha, the 86 bus is headed for "Villaverde Alto" and you want a stop on Avenida Cordoba, near Antonio Lopez/Almendrales" (the routemap on shows Avenida Cordoba and Almendrales). given that after check-in/bag-drop (unless perhaps you have no hold luggage), you would have to go through passport control (the UK not being in Schengen) as well as security before going to the departure gate. If your flight is to the UK, you should already be at Barajas not long after 5 a.m. (or taxi at 6 a.m - which would cost about €30 from that location!) if you want to make a 7 a.m. You'd have to leave a hotel in that location quite a bit BEFORE 5 a.m.
